Runrio Trilogy Awards Night

When I arrived at Decagon Silver City last February 20, I wonder, will there be star of night? Are Kenyans invited too? These questions are stucked in my mind as I approached the registration area of Runrio Trilogy Awards Night.

It was an overwhelming experience to see Coach Rio greeted and congratulate the awardees at the stage. I saw the youngest, to the oldest, to the fastest awardee of the night.

According to few runners I met in the lobby, the medal from Runrio Triology is described more than a finisher’s medal. More power to Coach Rio and Runrio Team, Unilab ActiveHealth and other sponsors, and the star of the night.. the runners! Congratulations. Hope to be see you on the next Runrio Trilogy on 2013.

Before I forgot, I would like to congratulate my friend Banjo Asiddao, Runrio’s Blogger of the Year. We love you and we are proud of you. Ikaw na!

Just in Time

Its already 2 days to go and I am just in time for 2012 Timex: Time is Running to be held on January 22, 2012 in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. I’ve been running the same 5k distance for several months and took me 40 to 45 minutes to finish. I believe this is the time for me to break a leg and move to 10k.

What’s in Riovana?

Riovana: Sole of Running

Right after the BGC Run launching held at Itallanis at Bonifacio High Street, me and the other bloggers went to Rio’s newly opened store located at 28th Street, corner 9th in Bonifacio High Street called RIOVANA. A running store designed by a runner for the runners.

While looking around and checking what’s inside, I asked Rio what is in Riovana that other running stores don’t have? He replied, aside from shoes and running stuff, there will be a sports doctor to attend runners’ medical needs, shower rooms and spa that will be called “sole searching”. He invited us to attend the so soft opening of Riovana the next day but I was not able to come due to few obligations.

Maybe, I will visit his store next week… by the way, Congrats Coach Rio.

Run BGC 2011

I still remember my first invitation from Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation, it was during the BGC Passion Parade sometimes in May this year. It was a parade of sculptures of giant balloons together with sports enthusiasts like bikers, skateboarders, runners and all.  One thing, I like about BGC is that my bike is safe and secure when I parked it anywhere within BGC.

This November, BGC came to a different flicks as they introduce running with Flag Football.

Flag Football Belt

Flag Football is a fun game of run and catch, which the purpose is for team (OFFENSE) to cover a full field distance and cross the Football at the “End zone” at opposite end of the field from which the 1st play was initiated.

But wait, these are the prize at stake:

1. A trip for two to Australia on a four (4) days, three (3) nights tour package any time within 2012.
2. Race registration fee to a chosen Australian-based marathon or fun run. Choices may be any of the following: The Sydney City To Surf, 2012 Gold Coast Airport Marathon & Half Marathon, The Great Ocean Road International Marathon.
3. A three-night twin sharing hotel accommodation
4. Prize is convertible to cash but not transferrable to another person.

It’s Camsur, Baby!

Summit Camsur Marathon 2011

I never thought that I am taking running to the next level when I attended the launching of the Summit Camsur Marathon last July 28 at Bubba Gump Restaurant, Greenbelt 3, Makati City.  I am running 5k again! Yahooooo.

Summit Camsur Marathon mechanics were discussed by Vima Mendoza, Digital Media Consultant of RunRio Inc. The Camsur Marathon is an AIMS member and IAAF certified. This would be my first time to Camsur and to participate in an international race in the Philippines. By the way, the race is a Boston Marathon qualifier.

Runrio: Get Ready Pilipinas

Run United Provincial Leg Series

Last June 29, I and the rest of the invited running bloggers joined a get together dinner with Runrio Inc. at Kabisera in Bonifacio High Street as they happily announced that they are bringing their Class-A races to provinces. These regional races made it possible through Unilab ActiveHealth’s Run United 2011 Regional Leg Series as the first kick-off race is happening in Roxas Avenue, Davao City on August 14, 2011.

The regional races will hold in the cities of Iloilo, Baguio, Bacolod and Cebu.

I am thankful to Runrio family for the invitation that I registered myself to Baguio and Bacolod legs.

Rexona Run 2011

Its nice to see different faces during the launch of Rexona Run last June 14, 2011 at Milky Way. And, I thank Runrio Inc. for always inviting me on their launches and race events. This event is something to look forward to, because I would say this would be the most generous race I’ve ever seen.

Guys, I am giving your reasons why you would join this running event. Lets begin.

Rexona Run 2011 is the 4th Runrio Series Manila 2011 will be held on July 24, 2011 at Mall of Asia. It features 3k, 5K, 10K, and 21K and all finishers are entitled to win in the raffle trip for three (3), an all-expense-paid adventure to “The Great Wall of China“.

Another adventure awaits to everybody at the Rexona Adventure Hub on July 23-24, these are Zipline, Reverse Bungee, Zorb Maze, Wall Climbing and the Free Fall. Complete at least 3 activities and it will double up your raffle coupons. Another chance to win an all-expense-paid trip with your friends to any local destinations like Banaue, Bohol or Cagayan de Oro.

But wait there’s more… for the first time, Runrio will launch the new “RunRio Timing Card.” This gadget is FREE when you register to Rexona Run. There will a be a formal launching of the re-usable RunRio Timing Card on June 18 at BGC.

Lastly, there will be a writing and photo contest organized by Fuentes Manila for Rexona Run.

AKTV Live Active

TV5 invites all active and sports-minded Filipinos to participate in the much-awaited AKTV Run this June 5 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds in Pasay City. The Kapatid network will introduce AKTV, the new primetime sports block that will become the home of sports and active lifestyle programs on IBC Channel 13. TV5 has partnered with RunRio, the country’s leading race organizer, in mounting the event.
