PRESS RELEASE
Shimano to hold 4th Dirt and Play XC Fun Race on May 18
Shimano, global leader in bicycle components, in the partnership with Comet Cycle is set to hold its 4th Dirt and Play XC Fun Race on May 18 at the Felicity Trails in Filinvest City, Alabang.
“Bikes are not only the most eco-friendly means of transportation, Filipinos have also come to appreciate the invigorating experience of biking as a sport and as a way to bond with friends and family members, ” Silver Cycle, organizer of the Shimano 4th Dirt and Play XC Fun Race.
Shimano is serving up an exciting all-day affair with race categories for kids, teens, and seasoned bikers (sport, pro, elite and national team). Simultaneously, a bike expo will showcase the latest models and cutting-edge technology of Shimano from exporters all over the world.
The various bike trail races are expected to draw in hundreds of local enthusiasts as Shimano beefs up the adventure with a bigger and better race experience. “With only 2 lots from last years’ race, we expanded it to 7 and stretched it from 2.5 kilometers to 6 kilometers per lap. We added single tracks, whoops, short climb bursts and switch backs to make it more exciting for the participants. Prizes also await the top 10 finishers,” said Alvin P. Timbol.
The Shimano Dirt and Play XC Fun Race started in 2011 as a way to promote biking as a sports activity and means to help build closer relationships between people and nature. Interested participants may register by contacting Alvin at 09178104540 and Arnold at 09272834567.
